The PCAOB is a private-sector nonprofit corporation created to oversee the auditors of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, fair, and independent audit reports. She previously worked for more than 20 years in commercial banking with The Bank of New York, European American Bank, and Bankers Trust. Hughes received her MBA from the University of Chicago.
