Eugene Stanley ’62, professor of physics and director of the Center for Polymer Studies at Boston University, was elected to the prestigious National Academy of Sciences. In addition, the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics awarded Stanley the Boltzmann medal to honor outstanding achievements in statistical physics. He was also selected for the Nicholson Medal by the American Physical Society, as well as for the Tersiana Medal (an Italian prize) in complex systems research.
