HENRY C. HERGE SR. ’45

HENRY C. HERGE SR., commanding officer of the Navy College Training Program (V-12) at Wesleyan from 1943–1945 and former dean of the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education, died Mar. 8, 2003. He was 97. The recipient of three degrees at New York University, he also received a doctorate from Yale University and an honorary degree from Wesleyan. Predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Breen Herge, survivors include his wife, Alice Wolfram Herge, two sons, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
